Mayors of large European cities call for right to set speed limits

25/04/24 (Agence Europe) – Mayors and deputy mayors from large cities in Belgium, Italy, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden have defended the right of local authorities to set appropriate speed limits, in a letter published in the Financial Times on Thursday 25 April. “Cities are uniquely positioned to determine what speed limits and traffic measures are needed to keep their roads safe”, commented André Sobczak, Secretary General of the Eurocities network of large cities....
